Robyn Carter, WTVJ's doyenne of all things possessed of that quintessential 1980s virtue, "hotness," hits local stores in search of Hot Christmas Gifts.
Among her finds: OmniBot, a "robot maid;" telephones (the type one plugged into the wall once upon a time) shaped like Porsche Carerras, more or less; a phone for use in the shower; a talking, pyramid-shaped electronic alarm clock; the WalkFan (don't ask); and a service that transfered home movies to video and dressed them up with the very latest computer-generated video graphics.
Much of this story takes place at the new Brookstone store at Bayside, all the better to showcase the cutting-edge trchnology for which Brookstone was once well known.
